FAQs for Gift Cards

How can I purchase a gift card?

Physical gift cards can be purchased at all NLC Liquor Stores or purchased online here. e-Gift cards are only available for purchase online. You can create an account or log in to your existing NLC account if you want to place a physical or e-gift card order online. You also have the option to check out as a guest.

What denominations are NLC Gift Cards available in?

For physical gift cards, you can choose any amount from $5 to $500. For e-Gift Cards, you can choose any amount from $5 to $250.

When and how are gift cards delivered?

Physical gift cards ordered online are shipped via Purolator. e-Gift cards can be scheduled for immediate* delivery, or scheduled for a future date, to the recipient’s email.

How much is the delivery fee?

All orders are subject to a flat shipping rate of $5.00 per order. The maximum order amount is $2500. There is no delivery fee for e-Gift Card purchases.

Where can I have my order shipped to?

Physical gift card orders can only be shipped within the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Deliveries can only be made to civic addresses, and not to PO boxes. You can place an order if you are outside Newfoundland and Labrador, but the shipping address must be within the province.

When can I expect delivery of my online order?

Once a physical gift card order is received, we require 5 business days for processing. You will receive an email confirmation when your order has been shipped. e-Gift cards can be scheduled for immediate* delivery, or scheduled for a future date, to the recipient’s email.

When can a recipient expect to receive their e-Gift card when the “Delivery Date” option is selected?

A recipient can expect to receive their e-Gift card after 3:00 AM on the requested delivery date.

When I place my order, what will I receive?

When purchasing a physical gift card, you will receive two emails:

(1) Order Confirmation and (2) Shipping Confirmation. When purchasing an e-Gift card, you will receive an Order Confirmation via email and the recipient will receive the e-Gift Card in their inbox.

What happens if I make an error with an email address, or the recipient has not received the e-Gift Card?

Please contact NLC Customer Service at [email protected] as soon as possible. Please note that NLC is not responsible for incorrect recipient and/or confirmation email addresses, billing or shipping addresses, or personalized greetings, etc.

Are there any personalization options for gift cards?

You can choose from one of the many gift card designs we have available. You also have the option to include a personalized message for the recipient.

What type of payment is required to place an order?

Payment can be made using VISA, MasterCard, or American Express.

Can I purchase physical gift cards and e-Gift Cards at the same time?

Yes, you can purchase physical and e-Gift Cards at the same time. However, it will require two separate checkout processes. Therefore, you will be billed separately and receive two order confirmations via email.

Can I cancel an order?

Gift card orders cannot be cancelled, and gift cards are non-refundable.

Can my company order physical gift cards in bulk?

NLC gift cards make a wonderful gift and/or incentive for your clients and staff. To order physical gift cards in bulk, please click HERE.

When will my gift card be activated?

Physical gift cards ordered online are activated and can be used immediately upon receipt. e-Gift Cards are activated upon delivery to the recipient. Online orders may be subject to review and can take up to one business day from the time of purchase to process.

How long is the gift card valid?

There are no expiry dates on NLC gift cards. The gift card is valid until the entire balance is spent. This also applies to gift cards already in circulation, regardless of their purchase date.

How do I check the balance on my gift card?

The sales receipt for each purchase you make with your gift card will itemize the value remaining. You can also find out the remaining value by using the ‘Check Balance’ function available on our website. Card balances are non-refundable and cannot be converted into cash.

Do I have to spend the entire amount on my card in a single transaction?

No. You can use all or part of the amount on the card. Any balance remaining can be used for subsequent purchases.

Can gift cards be reloaded with additional amounts?

Cards cannot be reloaded. The card can be scanned multiple times until the entire balance is spent.

Can I get my money back if my card is lost, stolen, or subject to unauthorized use?

You are solely responsible for your card. Since gift cards are equivalent to cash, we cannot issue refunds for lost, stolen, or unauthorized use of cards.
